Service line closures have included labor and delivery, inpatient mental health and even inpatient services in the last year. At Winona Health, dialysis services were costing the hospital $1 million a year, and leaders made the difficult decision to close the program. In this episode of Hospital Matters, Winona Health CEO Rachelle Schultz says only an 11th hour gift from a local family saved dialysis services — but that the financial challenges haven’t gone away.
