Lawmakers in Washington are looking to slash federal spending, and a new Republican target for reducing spending in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce has health care providers worried about potential cuts to Medicaid programs. In this episode of Hospital Matters, Dr. Marc Gorelick, CEO of Children’s Minnesota, says kids are the real faces of Medicaid and stand to lose the most if the program is subject to significant cuts. Dr. Gorelick says Medicaid is underfunded even now, and says Minnesota should still weigh a Medicaid matching program already in place in 40 other states.
